Ronald James Violette Jr.

Ronald James Violette, Jr., 52, passed away suddenly at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston on March 16, 2026, following several years of significant health complications. He was born on November 8, 1973, in Manchester, Connecticut, the second child of Ronald James Violette, Sr. and Sandra Jean Lush (Violette, Stevens). He grew up in Connecticut but spent most of his adult life in Maine.

Ron was a beautifully complicated and charismatic person who felt his heartache deeply, expressed himself artistically, and lived his life freely. Multifaceted, he was a natural musician, artist, speaker of multiple languages, and world traveler. Authentically kind from an early age, he had a way of making people feel comfortable confiding in him or inviting him to sail around the coast of Mexico. He had an ineffable way about him, and when he spent time with you, he made you feel important. Whether he was working in a hostel in Paris, busking around Europe, building a wigwam in the woods, snowboarding down mountains, or swimming in cold New England rivers, Ron had a kind of gravitational pull, attracting others toward him. He loved gardening, cooking delicious and healthy food, and the outdoors. He was like the wind and the rain and the clouds, beautiful and unique. He will be missed by anyone who knew him.

He was predeceased by his father, Ronald James Violette, Sr. He is survived by his mother, Sandra Stevens; his stepfather, Edward Stevens; his sister, Lynn Kingsley, her spouse, and two children; his stepsister, Kristen Brooke, and her children; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
