LORRAINE MAE (HUTT) HOFFMAN, 94, of Wilmont, died Saturday, February 3, 2024, at the Murray County Hospice in Slayton. She was born July 20, 1929, in Ellsworth, to John Jr. and Nadine (Carr) Hutt. She graduated from Worthington High School in 1948.
Lorraine married Tom Hoffman on June 21, 1949 at St. Kilian Catholic Church, rural Wilmont. After their marriage, Lorraine worked side by side with Tom on the family farm. They retired from farming in 1989. The couple spent twenty five winters in Apache Junction, AZ. After Tom's death on March 19, 2011, Lorraine moved to the Meadows, in Worthington, and resided there until August 24, 2023. She then moved to Murray County Hospice and resided there until her death.
She was a member of St. Kilian Catholic Church; and a lifelong sixty year plus Extension Project member. She enjoyed bridge, bowling, traveling, eating out, casino trips, visiting with friends and spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Lorraine is survived by her four children, Yvonne (Donald) Sieve, Worthington, MN; Douglas (Judy) Hoffman, Apache Junction, AZ; Barbara (Clyde) Smith, Wilmont, MN; and Roger (and special friend, Sandi) Avoca, MN; six grandchildren, Todd & Troy Hoffman; Chad & Jeremy Smith; and Theresa Voth & Tammy Hammann; ten great-grandchildren, Derek, TJ & Claire Hoffman; Justin & Jared Smith; Jade, Jacey & Makenzie Smith; and Joe Voth & Kyle Nichols; four great-great-grandchildren, Adelaide & Evelyn Hoffman; Kennedy Nichols; and Layton Smith; a brother, Wayne Hutt; and a sister-in-law, Joyce Hutt.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Tom; sister, Marcelline (Bob) Merillat; brother, Gerald "Jerry" Hutt; granddaughter-in-law, Sarah Hoffman; and a sister-in-law, Lyla Hutt.
Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Tuesday, February 6, at St. Kilian Catholic Church in St. Kilian; and one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 am Wednesday at St. Kilian Catholic Church, officiated by Monsignor Richard Colletti. Burial will be in the St. Kilian Cemetery.
