LEICESTER: Lorraine C. (Clarkson) Jubinville,83, of the Cherry Valley section of Leicester, died Wednesday, Oct. 1st in UMASS Medical Center, Worcester, surrounded by her family. She passed peacefully but unexpectedly, a life cut way too soon. She leaves her husband and best friend of 65 years, Richard E. Jubinville, her children David R. Jubinville, Sharon L. Richford and her partner Stephen Gingras, Michael S. Jubinville and his wife Pamela, and Brian J. Jubinville and his wife Christine all of Leicester. She also leaves her sister; Marilyn Cote of Wickford, RI, 12 grandchildren; James and Emily, Staci and Craig Thomas, Ashley and Matthew Lantagne, Allison and Jack, Scott, Matthew and Shamaila, Joseph, Megan, Zavier, Sean, Zoe, and six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her grandson Zachary.

Lorraine was born in Worcester, the daughter of Raymond J. and Sigrid (Swanson) Clarkson and later graduated from Leicester High School in 1959. She was the proud Color Guard Sergeant of the Leicester All Girls Drum & Bugle Corp with her long-time good friend Judy Antanavica. She married her high school sweetheart Richard after graduation, and they started a beautiful life together. At many functions Dick and Lorraine took great pride in being the longest married couple sharing their vast well of love with others. Lorraine loved dancing, traveling with family and friends, especially the annual trip to North Conway, NH - her favorite vacation place with her children and grandchildren.

She was always deeply engrained in the local community working at Russell Manufacturing in Leicester for many years followed by the Operations Center of Fleet Bank in Greendale for over 20 years before retiring in 1999. Where after retiring championing her most cherished role, hosting "Grammy's Daycare" for her grandchildren before and after school and all summer. Lorraine was the Treasurer for the Leicester Little League, a long-time Eucharistic Minister at St. Joseph-St. Pius X Parish, and volunteer at both the Leicester Food Pantry and New 2 You Thrift Shop. She was an active member of the Leicester Women's Club, Leicester Garden Club, Leicester Senior Center, Monday bowling league, and worked registrations at most of the Town elections. For many years Lorraine and her best friend Dolly Hickey decorated the altar of St. Joseph's Church in Leicester with so much love and care. Lorraine was absolutely heart-broken when the church was torn down recently. Among many other things she loved gardening, crafts, and spent many hours on the landscape around their home.
Her funeral will be held on Monday, Oct. 6th, from the MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester with a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Pius X Church, 1161 Main St., Leicester. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Leicester Food Pantry, 759 Main St., Leicester, MA 01524 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
