Lorraine Kovanda Obituary
Lorraine enjoyed flower gardening in her early years, watching the Hallmark channel, and eating Sunday brunch with family members at Wesley Willows. She was a caring, loving, and determined mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who cherished and appreciated the time she spent with her family. She was an avid baker, and her brownies will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her children Michael Kovanda and Gary (Jeanne) Kovanda; grandchildren Karen (Rob) Posch, Nicole (Ryan Schmidtbauer) Kovanda, Kimberly (Jeremiah Zachwieja) Kovanda, and Bradley Kovanda; great-grandchild Leighton Louis Zachwieja; Michael's partner, Linda O'Connor, and Bradley's partner, Josh Woodbury-Phipps. She is predeceased by her parents, husband, and daughter-in-law, Terry Kovanda.
A visitation to celebrate her life will be on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, from 1:00 - 2:30 pm at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Avenue, Rockford, IL 61103. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the United Church of Beloit, 657 Bluff St., Beloit WI 53511.
