Lorraine was born on April 14, 1934 and passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2017. Lorraine was a resident of Washington at the time of her passing. She graduated from the High School of Music and Art and received a B.S. in Education from City College of New York in 1955. She was married to John Pearce. Her funeral will be held at Hill and Wood Funeral Home in Charlottesville Thursday, March 16, 2017 at 11 am with Rabbi Tom Gutherz of Congregation Beth Israel officiating and with burial at the Charlottesville Hebrew Cemetery to follow and then a meal of consolation to follow that at the home of Hannah and Bruce at 112 George Rogers Rd Charlottesville VA 22911. Shiva minyan will also be held at their house Thursday night at 7 pm. SERVICES Funeral Service Thursday, March 16, 2017 11:00 AM Hill and Wood 201 N. What a brilliant & bright light in my developing years! Lorraine was like an aunt to me and like a sister to my mother, Mary Means Huber. They were in the second graduating class of Henry Francis DuPont's Winterthur Museum, as fellows. Her White House career was an inspiration to me. Her influence and love will be everlasting. May her memory be a blessing to those who knew her and learned from her. ❤sending condolences to David, Hannah and the grandchildren who she was so proud of!

Mrs. Pearce was very generous to me with her time and her archives when I was a student at Winterthur writing a thesis on Mr. du Pont's role in the White House restoration. I remain very grateful to her, and send her family my sincere condolences.
