Lorraine M. Woodring, 95 years of age, of Weatherly, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2025 as a guest of Heritage Hill Senior Community.
Born December 16, 1929 in Weatherly, Lorraine was the daughter of Emerson Sr. and Dorothy (Houser) Kolb. Lorraine was preceded in death by husbands Fredrick Boettger (1980) and Eugene Woodring (2019), and by her brother Emerson Kolb Jr. and sister Shirley Gaydos.
Surviving are sons David Leininger, Rancho Cucamonga, CA; Alan Leininger and wife Pamela of Hollywood, FL; grandson Kevin Leininger and partner Beth Dolinsky of Weatherly, and sister Judy Hill and husband Carl of Latimer Mines, PA; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Lorraine was a lifetime resident of Weatherly. She attended Weatherly High School. Mrs. Woodring worked at Tung-Sol in Weatherly, the Carbon County Home in Laurytown and the Weatherly school cafeteria. She was very active in Zions Evangelical Lutheran Church. She taught Sunday school for many years, was a member of the Grey Ladies and was a greeter for Sunday services with her husband Gene.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Philip J. Jeffries Funeral Home and Cremation services of Weatherly Pennsylvania.
Private services will be graveside in Union Cemetery, Weatherly Pennsylvania.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Lorraine's memory be made to Zions Evangelical Lutheran Church, 335 Third Street, Weatherly, PA 18255.
