Lorrie Griego, 61, of Alamosa, Colorado, passed away on November 16, 2025. She left this world surrounded by love, taking with her the memories, laughter and stories she created with those who were fortunate enough to know her. Born on August 6, 1964, in Alamosa, she was the beloved daughter of Elias "Sonny" Griego and Berlin Griego, who raised her with a strong work ethic and a deep sense of family.
Lorrie married Lawrence Lucero, her devoted husband, partner, and friend. Their marriage was built on humor, patience, shared joys, and a steady devotion that carried them through every chapter of life. She loved simply being with him, whether traveling, heading to a casino or spending a quiet evening at home. Together they built a life rooted in companionship and trust, lifting each other up during hard times and celebrating even the smallest of victories.
Lorrie was blessed with two sons, Alan Baroz and Brandon Baroz, whom she loved with her entire heart. They were her greatest pride and the source of some of her happiest stories. Lorrie was a stepmother to Lisa Lucero, and she embraced that role in the way she knew best, with honesty, steady support and quiet but sincere love. Blended families take heart and patience and Lorrie showed both.
Nothing delighted Lorrie more than being a grandmother. Her grandchildren, Donovin, Zaiden, Emeliah and Kenya, brought her immeasurable joy. She is preceded in death by her beloved grandson Ares Baroz, whom she never stopped carrying in her heart.
Her brothers, Elias Griego and Marcos Griego, were her lifelong companions, protective, teasing, loving and the bond they shared was unbreakable. Lorrie grew up side-by-side with them, arguing one minute, laughing the next, always circling back to the unspoken truth that they were each other's first friends. As adults, they remained constants in each other's lives. Elias and Marcos stood by her through every high and low and she supported them with the same fierce loyalty she carried in her heart.
Lorrie was also a proud aunt to her nieces and nephew, who adored her. She had a gift for making each one feel special, whether she was slipping them a treat, showing up to cheer them on, offering her bold opinions or teasing them in the way only she could.
Lorrie also cherished a close circle of lifelong friends. Some had been with her since childhood and others she collected along the way. They were more like family, offering her companionship, laughter, unconditional support and love.
Lorrie lived life with a spirit that was both bold and tender. She loved gambling, bingo, traveling and, most of all, spending time with her family and friends. Whether cheering over a lucky win, road-tripping to somewhere new or gathering around the table with the people she loved, she brought humor, feistiness and warmth to every space she entered. Those who knew her will remember her laugh, her loyalty and the way she could turn even a simple outing into an adventure.
She will be profoundly missed by her husband, children, stepdaughter, grandchildren, brothers, extended family and her lifelong circle of friends.
