Obituary published on Legacy.com by Kerr Brothers Funeral Home - Harrodsburg Road on Feb. 26, 2026.
Lorrie Anne (Cash) Parker, wife of James Stephen Parker, went to be with her Savior she loves on Wednesday, February 25th, 2026, at Baptist Health Hospital in Lexington, KY following an illness of several weeks. Lorrie was born in Frankfort, KY on December 18th, 1960; the second daughter of David F. and Rita Jone Cash.

Lorrie gave her heart and soul to Jesus at Bible Camp, Levi Jackson State Park in London, KY; a place that meant a great deal to her faith growing up. She was baptized and worshipped with her family at Providence Church of Christ and her Lord Jesus developed within her a compassionate heart toward service to others.

Lorrie vividly recalls hearing a sermon regarding the devastation of the abortion of children in the womb. She became very passionate about defending and protecting the unborn. This led her to work wherever she could with groups of like passion for Life.

Lorrie served on the Board of Right to Life of Central Kentucky for 28 years. During those years she served two terms as Chapter President. She also served one term as Vice-President of Kentucky Right to Life of Louisville.

Lorrie was a graduate of Rockcastle County High School, class of 1978; and Union College in Barbourville, class of 1982. She went to work in the offices of Gray Construction Company in Lexington. She then worked as a legal secretary for the Law Firm of Stites & Harbison, also in Lexington.

With a desire to be of influence in state government Lorrie became active in campaigns for Republican candidates. Following his election, Lorrie became Special Assistant of Congressman Ernie Fletcher. She also worked for a time with the legal team for Governor Fletcher's Administration until she left to dedicate more time to her Right to Life work. Lorrie later returned to serve as Office Manager for Governor Matt Bevin.

Lorrie was a beloved and faithful member of Porter Memorial Baptist Church in Lexington, Kentucky. Alongside her husband, Steve, they taught and shepherded the Adult Singles Sunday School Class for over 20 years.

Besides her husband of 25 years, James "Steve" Parker, those left to celebrate Lorrie's life are, one sister, Allison Reynolds and husband Roger, of Brodhead, KY; one nephew, Jason Reynolds and wife, Ashley; one niece, Loren Reynolds; and one great-niece, Trinity Reynolds, all of Mt. Vernon, KY. Three aunts, Jennie Payne and husband, Jackie of Mt. Vernon, KY, Judy Carter of Lexington, KY, and Mabel Cash of Brodhead, KY; Brother-in-law, Jeff Parker and wife Bonnie of Altamonte Springs, FL; Sisters-in-law Susan Wright and husband Ed of Mountain City, TN, and Sharon Parker of London, England; along with many cousins, organization and professional associates, and good friends. Lorrie was truly one of the most gracious women I have ever known...

I was blessed to work with her some years ago when she was responsible for (among a myriad of things) making sure the first impression and the lasting impression of everyone visiting the governors office was exceptional...

For many people, their only interaction with Frankfort was shaped entirely by the gentle and classy touch of Lorrie and her team...

Her genuine care for the physical and spiritual wellbeing of all those she crossed paths with was amazing...She served as the tireless hands and feet of Christ to many, many people...

Her time here on earth was far too short from our human perspective, but we rejoice in knowing that, even as we mourn her passing, she is healthy and joyous and happy in the presence of her Lord and Savior....

She will be sorely missed by many, but our loss is heaven´s gain and we know we will see her again...

The Carter´s send their deepest sympathies to Steve, the Parker family and friends. I only met Lorrie a few times, but the light she brought to the room was bright. Godspeed to Lorrie.

I was so saddened to hear that Lorrie had passed. I met her just a few times and she was so sweet and seemed like such a godly woman. My wonderful friend Diana Maldonado spoke so highly of her, and Diana knew her well because they worked in Right to Life together. No doubt that she is with Jesus. I hope we all will see you in heaven, Lorrie! Terry Durbin
