Lothar Gerull

Gerull, Lothar H., age 88, of Fair Lawn, passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at home surrounded by his loving wife of 64 years and family.
Born in Lithuania, Lothar (Bill) immigrated to the United States at fifteen years old from Germany and eventually settled in Fair Lawn. He served in the US Air Force from 1957 to 1962 and later retired as a Shop Foreman. Lothar's hobbies included fishing, bowling, scuba-diving, boating, music and rock collecting. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, telling Dad jokes, visiting the casino and watching sports. He was eager to help others whenever needed and was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Fair Lawn.
Lothar was the beloved husband of Erika Gerull (nee: Didor). Loving father of Karen Van Kat and her husband Raymond of Midland Park, and Robert Gerull and his wife Linda of Matthews, NC. Dearest grandfather of Jennifer and her husband Thomas, Zachary and his wife Caitlin, Samantha and her husband Alex, William and Mathew. Dear brother of Erika Nagy. Kind-hearted uncle to all his nieces and nephews. Lothar was predeceased by his parents Willy and Olga Gerull and brother, Helmut.

A memorial service will be held at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 22-15 Broadway, Fair Lawn, NJ 07410 on Saturday, January 10th, 2026, at 11:00 am.
