Departed this life October 13th, 2023. Coach Louis Anderson Jr., age 87, of Richmond. He was a successful and respected football coach and educator with a career spanning four decades. He coached numerous High school football teams including those at Maggie Walker and Marshall Walker High Schools and Virginia State University.
He is survived by three daughters, Cynthia Barrett(Greg), Brenda Davis and Keesha Anderson; one son, Glenn Anderson(Heather); four grandchildren, Robin Lauren Barrett, Marquis Davis(Corynne), Julian Woods and Elisabeth Anderson; one great grandson, Jaeden Davis; four sisters, Margarieta Anderson, Helen Bledsoe, Jean Foxworth, and Dorothy Henderson; one brother, Glenn R. Anderson(Jackie); a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; and other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue where the family will receive friends Thursday from 6PM to 7:30PM. Funeral services will be held Friday 11AM at Trinity Baptist Church, 2811 Fendall Avenue where remains will lie in state one hour prior to funeral time. Dr. A. Lincoln James(pastor) off. Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery. Family and friends assemble at the church 10:45AM Friday.
