Robert Fulgham Sr.

1929 - 2026

"Bobby" passed away peacefully on February 7, 2026, at Lakewood Retirement Community. Born in Richmond on May 27, 1929, Bobby was the son of Alvin James Fulgham and Cecil Brown Fulgham. He was pre-deceased by his dear wife of 62 years, Jean Ambrose Fulgham. He is survived by his children, Betty Jean Eldridge, Robert Cecil Fulgham, Jr. (Brenda), Diane Challenor (Steve) and Cynthia Johnson (Bob) in addition to seven grandchildren, Jennifer Eldridge (Carl), Andrea Copeland (Brian), Jason Challenor (Rachel), Bo Eldridge, Christopher Johnson, Tracy Peddicord (Joe), Brooke Carter (Cory), and fourteen Great Grandchildren.

Bobby treasured his childhood growing up in the Highland Park Neighborhood of North Richmond. He was proud to have attended John Marshall High School and loved being a member of the "E" company cadet corps. This influenced his decision to join the U.S. Marine Corps, where he served during the Korean War.

Bobby spent his professional career beginning with Armour Corporation, then spent several years with Esso before he found his passion for sales with Certified Laboratories (industrial chemicals and supplies.) He later founded and owned "Step-Saver" Products, retiring in 2015 at the ripe age of 87! He loved his faithful customers scattered throughout Southside Virginia and vice-versa. Bobby was a big fan of relationship development and a true salesman.

Bobby was a faithful attendee of Discovery United Methodist Church, and much enjoyed his many friends at Lakewood, where he resided for the past seven years.

A Memorial Celebration of Life will be held at the Lakewood Simms Center on Tuesday, March 3 at 3:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Red Cross or the the Wounded Warrior Project.
