Louis Barca Obituary
Louis Dominic Barca, of Hammond, Louisiana, passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at the age of 96. He was born on January 31, 1929, in Hammond, Louisiana, the son of the late Louis Barca Sr. and Sarah Alack Barca. Louis was a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Many would know Louis from Southeastern Louisiana University Barber Shop where he was a barber for many years. He was also a longtime parishioner of Holy Ghost Catholic Church.
Louis is survived by his family, to include, Don Alack Sr. (Pam), Don Alack Jr. (Crystal) and their children Lane and Aubrey Alack, Courtney Ernst Benson (Casey) and their children Jax and Kai Benson, John Ernst (Brittany) and their children John and Jude Ernst, Loretta and Rick Vale, and Ruth Alack.
In addition to his parents, Louis was preceded in death by Bea Alack.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Vital Caring Hospice for their gentle and compassionate care.
Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401 on Monday, March 31, 2025 from 9:00 am until 10:30 am.
A Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, 600 North Oak Street, Hammond, Louisiana 70401 on Monday at 11:00 am.
Entombment will follow at Rose Memorial Park Mausoleum in Hammond, Louisiana.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home and Crematory of Hammond and Ponchatoula. An on-line guest book is available at www.harrymckneely.com.
