Louis V. DeBernardo, 62, of Staten Island NY passed away peacefully on July 10, 2025 surrounded by love. Louis was the devoted husband to DonnaMarie DeBernardo of 38 years. Louis adored his 3 V's Virginia (Jose), Vincent, Victoria (Victoria), and was the absolute proudest pop to his 3 grandchildren Brayson, Logan, & Celeste.
Louis was a retired letter carrier where he delivered to the same route for over 30 years. Rain, sleet, sun, or snow, Louie was ready to go! Louis found joy in the simplest things life has to offer. He was passionate about his garden, baking, BBQ, and pool. He enjoyed long card games with his friends, left right center with family, and special needs athletes with the coaching special Olympics.
Louis could be found at the beach making sand turtles soaking up the sun or riding waves or he could be found on the couch with his wife watching Diners, Drive Ins and Dives. Louis was the Biggest Met and Bear fan. He loved watching the games and playing the games. In true pop fashion he was also his grandsons biggest fans as they started their baseball career and watching his granddaughter dance.
Louis loved Christmas. he was always in the Christmas spirit! Being around him made you feel like it was Christmas everyday.
Louis had the most beautiful full life accomplished by so many things along his journey. He will be truly be missed.
He was the beloved husband to DonnaMarie. Loving father to Vincent, Virginia (Jose Almonte) and Victoria (Victoria). Dear brother to Louise, Margaret, Laraine, Francis, Anna, Mary and Diane. Devoted grandfather to Brayson, Logan and Celeste.

To The Family Of Louis V. DeBernardo,
From across the miles, I am so sorry to just learn of Louie's passing. I worked along side your husband/father at the PostOffice for many years, before my own retirement in 2003. Louie was a hard dedicated worker. If another worker had a family emergency, Louie would be the first to volunteer for the extra work load. He would never complain. If you were having a bad day, he would offer you a kind word, accompanied by a consoling smile. As the irish would say, "he comes from good stock"{good family background} That was the Louie I once knew, and will always remember. May only loving memories forever comfort the family, may his soul forever be at Our Heavenly Father's Right Hand.
