Louis Edward Harmon entered this world on October 31, 1962, in Lake Charles, Louisiana to the late November Harmon. Growing up, Louis was a ladies' man, a trouble maker, and a good time, but above all a man of honor and integrity. "Big Lou" went on to pursue an education in his passion of culinary arts and was also a certified truck driver.
One thing you could always count on was finding Lou riding around town with a heavy laugh and a wide smile. He lived a very simple life that had some very impactful moments. His life story is one of highs and lows, but never one of defeat. Louis was a genuine man who had book, street, and common sense so you could always count on him giving you some kind of advice. Not to mention the whirlwind ride or die romance he found with his late wife, Linda, which was truly something to witness.
Louis courageously fought a hard battle against cancer since 2023. On November 9, 2024, God saw fit to give him eternal rest. Even in this battle, he fought in stride until the end laughing and joking until he couldn't anymore. Lou's strength will always be a core memory.
Lou was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Harmon; mother, November Harmon; sister, Audrey Welcome; brothers, Eddie Harmon, Mack C. Harmon, Jr, and Theo Harmon.
Louis leaves behind a myriad of loved ones who will forever mourn the loss of his presence and cherish the funny memories. They include his daughter, Sheneika Lemelle; bonus daughters Ebony, Ericka, and Arial Lemelle; one grandson Alister "Pop Pop" Benjamin; seven bonus grands, Bryson, Brylin, Basil, Katie, Delilah, Mila, and Baylin whom Louis loved dearly; two sisters, Mary Turner and Elaine Harmon; two brothers, Willie Ray Harmon and Leo Harmon and a beloved sister-in-law, Betty Harmon. Added to these are a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends, including his best friend Saunders "Joe" Reynaud.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2024 at 1:30 p.m., and funeral service at 3:30 p.m., at King's Funeral Home.
