Louis P. Marano, 90, of Franklin, passed away Friday, May 17, 2024 and his son Anthony M. "Tony" Marano, 62, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2024 from injuries received in an automobile accident in Milford. The family is deeply saddened by their tragic death.
Louis was the beloved husband of Angiolina "Angie" (Pisani) Marano, with whom he shared 63 years of marriage.
Born in Sant'Angelo in Grotte, Italy, on December 21, 1933, a son of the late Pasquale and Antonette Marano, he was raised and educated in Italy where he was a mason by trade. Louis then immigrated to America in the 1950s.where he worked on the railroad in Ignace, Canada. He later moved and settled in Franklin in late 1960 where he reunited with Angie. They were married on October 15, 1960.
Louis worked as a machinist for Kendall Mills in Walpole. He worked as a handyman at Wrentham Developmental Center from 1969 until he retired in 1998.
Louis was a pillar of hard work and dedication, deeply committed to his family and their well-being. With a tireless work ethic, he juggled two jobs to ensure his loved ones had the opportunities he dreamed for them. Louis found solace and joy in his workshop, where he honed his skills in fixing and building, crafting creations out of wood and cement that reflected his craftsmanship and ingenuity.
Louis's green thumb was evident in his abundant vegetable garden, where he poured his heart into nurturing each plant to fruition. His garden was not just a source of sustenance, but a testament to his love to provide the best for his family. He prided himself on making homemade sausages and wine, as well as his frittata that he would faithfully deliver each Easter to family and friends. His family will lovingly continue this tradition in his memory.
In addition to his wife, Louis is survived by his son Peter Marano, and his daughter-in-law Paula Marano of Franklin, and his grandchildren Gianna and Rocco Marano who were his world. In addition, he is survived by two sisters, Rose Mucciarone of Niagara Falls Ontario, Angie Direnzo of Niagara Falls, Ontario, his sister-in-law Lucia Marano of Mississauga, Ontario, and many nieces and nephews.
He is also the brother of the late Dominic Marano and Felix Marano.
In every aspect of his life, Louis exemplified resilience, determination, and love. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, creativity, and devotion that will continue to inspire all who knew him. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral on Saturday, May 25th, at 9 AM from the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, Franklin at 10 AM. To view the Mass,
Calling hours are Friday, May 24th, from 4-7 PM.
Burial will follow at the parish cemetery.

With our deepest condolence Angie, Peter and family. We met Luigi, a young man, first coming to Canada to a little railroad town called Ignace Ontario. Always willing to be kind and lend a helpful hand. We then had the pleasure of meeting Tony and Peter in Niagara Falls and what a comic duo they were. May our Lord Jesus comfort and console you, Angie, Peter and family. "Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon them. May the souls of the faithful departed through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen". May they now R.I.P. in the arms of Mary our mother and Jesus.
