Louis "Yippy" Mincarelli

Louis Felix Mincarelli "Yippy" of Norristown, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family on Sunday May 9, 2021. He was 85 years old. Born March 25, 1936 in Norristown, he was the son of the late Alfred and Lucy (nee Sangiacamo) Mincarelli, and the beloved husband of Irene (nee Karpinski) with whom he shared 60 years of marriage. Lou was a Barber by trade and as an instructor, passed his knowledge down to up and coming stylists. He and his brother opened one of the first seven stores in 1963 in the Plaza of the King of Prussia Mall. Lou enjoyed eating Pizzelles, sitting in the warm sun, listening to Hank Williams, Sr. not Jr., and gardening. He was an avid Eagles fan, and all things Cadillac. His favorite shows were All in the Family & Everybody Loves Raymond, he would also enjoy a cold Miller Beer & Planters Peanuts as well as Zeps from Lou's. Yippy was the devoted father of Cindi Currie, Louis Mincarelli, Jr. (Eileen), Sandy Hamilton (Michael) and Christopher Mincarelli (Deborah), proud grandfather of Andrew, Elizabeth, Lydia, Samantha (Adam), Matthew, Wesley, Ryan, Aaron, Edward, and the late Nicholas, great grandfather of Carter and Taylor, and brother of the late Alfred Mincarelli. Relatives and friends are invited to share in Yippy's Life Celebration on Thursday May 13, from 10 AM to 11:30 AM at Boyd-Horrox-Givnish of East Norriton, 200 West Germantown Pike, 610-277-7000. His funeral service will begin at 11:30 AM at the funeral home. Interment will be private at St. Patrick's Cemetery.
