Louis John Rolf (L.J.), of Boling, Texas passed away peacefully on December 8, 2025, with his wife by his side. He was born on July 27, 1944 at the Texas gulf Hospital in New gulf, Texas to the late Alvin Conrad and Betty Justine Rolf.

L.J. graduated from Boling High School with the Class of 1962. Although small in stature, his toughness and speed earned him a football scholarship to Texas A&I in Kingsville under the leadership of Coach Gil Steinke and Coach Gene Greene and where he lettered four years as their half back. He was also team tri-captain his senior year. He married his high school sweetheart, Elaine Senf, while still at Texas A&I.

Immediately after graduating from college, L.J. started his long career at Texas gulf Sulphur Company in New gulf, Texas, and remained with the company, through mergers and acquisitions, for the entirety of that career. After 3 months in the New gulf Warehouse, he was transferred to the Accounting Department in Oil & Gas, promoted to Accounting Supervisor, then later promoted to Manager of Administrative Services. When Texas gulf closed in 1994, he and Elaine were fortunate enough to be transferred to the corporate office in Raleigh, North Carolina, where he held the title of Manager of Employee Services-PCS Phosphate Company and lastly to the corporate office of PotashCorp in Northbrook, Illinois where he was given the title of U.S. Director of Pensions and Benefits. He retired after 39 years of service with this great company and he and Elaine moved back to Texas as quickly as they could. As they were leaving the State of Illinois, he got a speeding ticket. This was the first ticket he had ever received in his long life of driving. He always commented that "there will be a giant suction leaving Illinois when retiring and headed back to our home in Texas" and he kept his promise.

L.J. loved to hunt and fish, especially bow hunting. He spent many hours hunting and enjoying time in the woods or on the water. He could tell you a story of every one of the many deer he was lucky enough to bring home or about the many fishing trips he made with his close family and friends. He also enjoyed coaching his son's baseball teams and watching his children's and grandchildren's sports. After retiring and moving back to Texas, many years were spent serving on the Board of Directors of Texas gulf Federal Credit Union. L. J. was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.

L.J. was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Betty Rolf, a brother, Alvin J. Rolf and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert and Elizabeth Senf. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife of almost 61 years, Elaine, daughters, Teri Rolf of Boling and Tiffany Fincher and husband Larry of League City, son, Tommy Rolf of Van Vleck, brothers, Ray Rolf and wife, Jennifer of Wharton, Jody Rolf of Boling, and sisters, Maggie Chicoine of Canyon Lake, Suzanne Byrd and husband, Gary of Sweeny, Diane Jones and husband, Jack of Temple, grandchildren, Hunter Winkelmann of Garwood, Garrett Rolf and wife, Caroline of Chilton, Graison Rolf of Philadelphia, PA, Alayna Rolf of Van Vleck and Weston Rolf of Van Vleck and Great Grandaughter, Charlie Elaine Rolf along with many nieces and nephews.
