Louis “Lou” Tignac, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on November 3, 2025. Born on August 21, 1940, Lou graduated from Chicago Technical Institute with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, embarking on a remarkable career in aerospace.
After moving to California, Lou began working at Rocketdyne, and his career took him to Sparks, Nevada, and Kennewick, Washington, before returning to Simi Valley, California. Throughout his professional life, Lou was known for his ingenuity and dedication.
In retirement, Lou embraced his passions for bicycling, building intricate model ships, and enjoying quiet moments at home. He also traveled extensively with his beloved wife, Pat, exploring new places and creating many memories together. Though he often had a serious and practical exterior, those who knew him well understood he had the biggest heart and would do anything for his family.
Lou is survived by his wife, Pat; his sons, Lou, Scott, and Chad; his daughters-in-law, Leslie and Amy; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Terry. He will be remembered for his sharp intelligence, quick wit, and devotion to his family.
A celebration of Lou’s life will be held on Saturday November 15 th at his son’s home (11AM – 2PM). He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
