Louis Zobrosky Obituary

Louis D. Zobrosky

Nov. 3, 1931 - Jan. 27, 2021

GRANGER, IN -

Lou peacefully passed away Wednesday evening. He is survived by Delores, his wife of 67 years. He was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Ransberger. Lou was also survived by his children, Jeff (and Cindy) Zobrosky, Cathy (and John) Staton, Michael (and Kim) Zobrosky, and David (and Veronica) Zobrosky.

Lou and Del have 17 grandchildren: Joey (and Dan) Trimberger, Justin (and Heather) Zobrosky, Shannon Mariscol, John (and Karen) Staton, Chad Staton, Ashley (and Andy) Bailey, Nicole Staton (Anthony Orozco), Jordon Zobrosky, Taylor (and Dan) Alexander, and Sidney (and Joe) Pavey. They also have 23 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Lou was born and raised in South Bend and was Captain of the South Bend Central Bears football team. Lou excelled in football and was named MVP and awarded the title of “All State Tackle”. After graduating high school, Lou attended Indiana University for two years. He then went into the U.S. Airforce during the Korean War. It was then that Lou married his lifelong love, Delores Wozniak, on June 20, 1953. After four years of service in the U.S. Airforce, Lou and Del returned to South Bend and Lou went into his father's trucking business, Michiana Truck Leasing. In 1972 Lou closed the doors and went to work for the South Bend Community School Corp. and was in charge of vehicle maintenance and was the building facilitator. Lou retired from the S.B.C.S.C. in 1994.

After retirement, Lou and Del enjoyed spending their time traveling with friends and family all over the country. Lou was known for making many memorable stories throughout his life and had an infectious laugh that was very uniquely his own.

Lou and Del's love, affection, and dedication to family and friends set the bar very high for all of us. Lou will be missed by all and forgotten by none. God rest your soul.
