Louisa R. Dowling

Louisa R. Dowling, "Louise", "Lou" nee Fioravanti, of Lafayette Hill, passed away on July 9, 2025 at the age of 77 at home with her beloved husband at her side. She was born in Philadelphia, PA and was the daughter of the late Emidio and Anterina Fioravanti, originally from Colli di Barete, Italy. Louisa worked at Clover in Andorra where she developed timeless relationships, then brought her quiet ability to connect with others to the University of Pennsylvania Bookstore and Veterinary School for 25 years where she cultivated many diverse interests and even more lifelong friendships. But her greatest passion was her family, whom she loved unconditionally and without boundaries. She demonstrated this love every day through her cooking, as her mother had before her. She assumed the role of the consummate Italian Nonna, showering her grandchildren with an abundance of love and delicious meals. Louisa loved music and would spend hours perfecting her playlist. Louisa and Ed were avid travelers and enjoyed many memorable vacations, whether visiting family in Italy or just sitting on a beautiful beach watching the waves. Predeceased by three older siblings Julius, Rose and Philomena (Patrick), and niece Roseann Patrick. Survived by her loving husband of 58 years Edgar "Ed", "Eddie" Dowling; children Michael (Patricia) and Dena McManus (Brian); grandchildren Aislinn, Emily, Michael, Abigail, Megan and Brian; brother-in-law Joseph Patrick; nieces Lisa (Pete Borgmann), Lori (Jerald Kunde), Julia, and Isabel (Logan Fifer). Relatives and friends are invited to a Visitation from 9:30-10:45 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at St. Philip Neri Church, 437 Ridge Pike, Lafayette Hill, PA.
