Louise Bennett Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Collins Funeral Home - Norwalk on Mar. 12, 2026.
Louise A. Bennett, age 84, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on March 9, 2026. She was the wife of the late Wayne A. Bennett whom she adored and cared for until his passing in 2015, they are together once again. Both of them shared the love for antiquing and ran a little booth up at Stratford antique center. They also loved driving around and going to car shows together. Louise enjoyed the warmer weather and sitting on her front porch watching the cars and people go by. She took pride in her beautiful garden full of pink flowers, which matched her adorable pink house. She will forever be our little pink lady. Louise treasured her family very much, the memories we have will be eternally cherished.

Louise was born on October 29, 1941, and raised in Norwalk. She was the daughter of the late Fredrick and Mildred Palumbo.

She is survived by her loving daughter Louise D. Bennett, and her beloved grandchildren Ludovico Iacono, Amanda Kelly, and her husband Matthew and their daughter, Louise's great granddaughter, Meadow. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Carol Palumbo and brother-in-laws Gary Bennett, Russell Oullette and his wife Gigi, and Frank Oullette and his wife Elizabeth, and her cousin Anna Richter, along with many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends. She was predeceased by her brothers Alfred Palumbo and his wife Caroline, Ralph Palumbo, William Palumbo and his wife Cathrine and her sister Cathrine Grecco and her husband Daniel along with her sister-in-law Phyllis Bennett.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at 11 am at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 203 East Avenue, in Norwalk. Calling hours will take place at 10 am in the church prior to Mass. Louise will be laid to rest at St. John Cemetery, 223 Richards Avenue in Norwalk.
