Louise Castle Burchett, age 94, of Stambaugh, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, surrounded by her family singing "Lord It's Just Another Hill" as she went home to be with the Lord.
Louise was born December 24, 1931, in Johnson County, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Linzie and Edna Isaac Castle. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Delbert Burchett, one son, Gilbert Burchett, Sr., five sisters, Louvernie Burchett, Okie Jan Eidenier, Dixie Mae Daniels, Edna Fay Spivey, Pauline Caldwell, and seven brothers, Jakey "Jake" Lewis, Linzie "Bug" Castle, Jr., James Ernest "Jimbo" Castle, Thomas "Tom" Marion Castle, Charles "Tobe" Leon Castle, Willie "Tub" Ray Castle, Walter "Walt" Lee Castle.
Louise is survived by one daughter, Shirley Jean Burchett (Ron) Tevis; six sons, Lloyd Thomas (Addie) Burchett, Lionel (Lois) Burchett, Robert Jefferson (Ann) Burchett, Gary (Tammy) Burchett, Larry (Sherry) Burchett, and William Henry (Sharon) Burchett; three sisters, Joyce Lee, Marilyn and Pearline; twenty-one grandchildren, forty-two great grandchildren, twenty great-great grandchildren, two step grandchildren, nine step great grandchildren, two step great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
In 1953, at the Stambaugh Church (School), 22 years of age Louise gave her Life to the Lord and had been a member of Locust Grove Church for 72 years.
Louise was the thread and the heart that kept her family together. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be remembered for her Determination and dedication to her family.
She was a former Grocery Store Owner and Housewife, where she took pride in her Gardening, Flowers, and Canning from her Garden. She enjoyed warmth of making a Quilt and the Comfort of Cooking a meal for her family or making her wonderful Homemade apples pies. She enjoyed sitting by the window, looking out and watching Gods Nature and the Birds.
Her life was not about Grand Gestures but love that built her family.
Though you may be Gone from our sight, you will always be with us in our hearts. God gave us to You, now we give you back to Him. Where you will rest with Him for eternity. We love you and will always miss you.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Sunday, in the Jones-Preston Funeral Chapel with burial to follow at Burchett Family Cemetery, Stambaugh, Kentucky. Friends may visit the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Saturday from 12:00 Noon until 8:00 p.m. and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m.
