Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lind Funeral Home, Inc. on May 28, 2025.
It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of Louise Ciancio, who passed away Tuesday May 27th, 2025, at her home in Jamestown. Louise was a devoted wife, mother, cherished grandmother, and beloved friend, who peacefully departed this life surrounded by her family.
Louise was the heart of the Ciancio family. A fiercely loyal and giving woman, she was married to the love of her life, Joseph Ciancio, for 49 beautiful years. Together, they built a family grounded in love, laughter, and unwavering support. As a mother, she poured her heart into raising her three children Joseph, Louanne, and John Ciancio with strength, compassion, and boundless love.
Her family extended beyond her children to include a son-in-law who became like a son, John Morehouse, and two incredible daughters-in-law, Lynn Ciancio and Lori Ciancio, all of whom she loved deeply. Louise also held close in her heart Kathy Temple and Dena Flatt whom she considered bonus daughters, treating them with the same affection and devotion as her own children; her sister-in-law Mary Hatch (Ciancio) and niece Carm Ciancio; along with a lifelong friend and companion Ralph Germaine who on a daily basis was involved in making her life enjoyable
Nothing brought Louise more joy than being a grandmother. Her life revolved around her beloved grandchildren: Dustin, Jessie, Tory Ciancio, and her great-grandson Luca, as well as Angelo and Gianni Ciancio - each of whom lit up her world and filled her heart with pride and happiness every single day.
Louise was a woman of many talents and passions. In her younger years, she was a gifted ballroom dance instructor. Music moved her in the most literal sense if she heard a song she loved, especially old-time rock and roll, she would be up dancing, even in her final days. Her love for movement and joy was infectious.
Professionally, Louise was a licensed beautician for many years, building a loyal clientele who were more than just customers. They were lifelong friends.
In the kitchen, Louise was a marvel. An extraordinary cook and baker, she found true joy in sharing her meals and treats with others, often turning ordinary days into cherished memories simply through the food she prepared with love.
Louise is preceded in death by her parents, Pietro and Josephine Engkilterra; her brother, Tom Engkilterra; her beloved husband, Joseph Ciancio; and her grandson Jessie Ciancio, whose memories she carried in her heart every day.
Louise leaves behind a legacy of love, warmth, and grace. She touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her, and her presence will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
In honoring her memory, let us carry forward her kindness, her zest for life, and her unwavering love for family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, May 30th at Ss. Peter & Paul Church, led by the Rev. Paul Cygan. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Visitation will not be observed.
