Minnie Louise "M. Louise" Parizek passed away on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 in Overland Park, Kansas. On November 8, 1938, she was born in Iola, Kansas to Lillian Marie Moore, who soon after became Mrs. Charles Phillips. Louise graduated from Nevada High School in Nevada, Missouri. Louise was a faithful member of the Roman Catholic Church. Most recently she attended The Church of the Ascension in Overland Park, Kansas; and previously, St. Peter's Catholic Church in Kansas City, Missouri. Starting in high school with touch typing, shorthand, and filing, Louise's career was in office administration and automation. She began as an executive secretary, but as computers entered the workplace, Louise advanced to data processing, systems management and information technology. She received the "Office Administration and Automation" magazine Gold First Award. Louise enjoyed the performing arts, visual arts, textile arts, culinary arts, flower arranging, planning, writing and travel. She was very organized, passionate, faithful, hospitable, gracious and devoted. She is survived by her husband Richard "Dick" Eldon Parizek; children Erika Lea Ashley (Mrs. Bryan Atkins) and Richard Joseph Parizek. Her surviving siblings are Charlene Phillips (Jenkins), Charles Phillips, Harold "Butch" Phillips, and Martha Phillips (Osterhout). Louise was also very close to Dick's sisters, Marianne Parizek (Powell), Elizabeth "Beth" Parizek (Henson) and Amy Parizek (Law). She also leaves behind her grandchildren; Jonathan Thomas "JT" Atkins, Katherine Claire Atkins (Mrs. Joshua Williams), Grayson Joseph Parizek and Benjamin Dalton Parizek. Her beloved in-laws are Bryan Atkins (son-in-law), Brandi Thornton (Parizek)(daughter-in-law), and brothers-in-law David Lee Henson and Gregory "Greg" Law. She was preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter Elizabeth "Liz" Ashley Atkins, sister Marie Phillips (Reed), brother-in-law Thomas "Tom" Powell, and her father-in-law and mother in-law Mr. & Mrs. Eldon Parizek (Mildred Burger). One of Louise's favorite quotes came from Pope Francis, "Always remember that life is a journey. It is a path, a journey to meet Jesus at the end and forever." The services to honor and celebrate her life are noted below. Memorial contributions can be made to the Kansas City Symphony (kcsymphony.org) and/or to Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas, (catholiccharitiesks.org).
