Louise Swicegood, 97, of Haines City, FL, passed away on July 28, 2024, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 8, 1926, in Jeff Davis County, Georgia, to Willie and Cora Addis Wages Foskey. Louise moved to Florida 67 years ago and worked as a grader in the packing house citrus industry for 30 years before retiring. She was a member of Eastside Baptist Church in Haines City, FL.
Louise loved thrift shopping, going out to eat, spending time with her family and dogs, going to church, singing at the church, and gardening. She adored all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was known for being sweet, very loving, and having a strong faith in God.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Cora; three siblings, Jimmy Rowell, Eunice Bohann, and Geraldine Floyd; and stepchildren, Wayne Swicegood and Jeanette Parker. Louise leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, Joan Lipscomb and husband Dan of Weatherford, TX, Linda Chism of Haines City, FL, Maxine Karwart of Haines City, FL, and Debbie Weeks and husband Steve of Haines City, FL; siblings, Earl and Joby Rowell both of Hazelhurst, GA and Billie Jean Messenger of Haines City, FL; 18 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and 19 great-great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Friday, August 2, 2024 from 10:00 am until the funeral service at 11:00 am at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Haines City, FL. Final resting place will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Haines City, Fl.
