Reverend Louise Brown Wright's Life Reflections
Reverend Louise Brown Wright was born July 24, 1953, to Johnny Brown Sr. and Lula Taste Brown. Louise resided and attended local schools in Cross, SC where the Brown family resided until age 15, when the family moved to
Eutawville, SC. She then attended and graduated from Roberts High School in nearby Holly Hill, SC, June 1971.
From an early age, Louise became a member of Silas UMC, where she sang in many of the church choirs and held many positions. Louise always had a calling to grow stronger in the lord, so at the tender age of 49, she began her college career.
After leaving the family business Wright's Carpet & Decorating in 1993, in 2003 she informed her family she needed to go higher, so she started and attended Claflin University where she completed her Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Religion. She went on to complete her Master of Divinity Degree from Gammon Theological Seminary in Atlanta, GA., after-which she began serving her United Methodist Pastorship where she served a number of churches in the conference.
Louise had an internal flame in her heart for celebrating Christ through her love of singing and gospel music. Her influence from singers like The Williams Brothers and Rev. James Cleveland helped to nurture that love with her involvement with SC-based group "The Carolina Messengers". The group completed 4 gospel albums in the late 80's and early 90's with local success and travels abroad to places like Switzerland. Her passion also allowed her to write & executive produce an album that included her daughter, Stacie, with the group "Southern Image".
Having met at the tender ages of 15 in Jr. high School - On September 24, 1974, she joined in Holy Matrimony to her beloved friend, husband and soulmate of 50 years, Larry Wright. Over the years of this union, they raised (4) incredible children; Gary Brown-Wright, Kevin L. Wright, Terell O. Wright and Stacie R. Wright. (4) beautiful grand-children: Edward J. Mcfadden (deceased), Dorian C. Wright, Kiersten D. Wright and Myles O. Wright.
Louise is survived by her (4) sisters, Lillie M. Clark of Manhattan, NY, Henrietta Gibbs & Sarah Barnes both of
Eutawville, SC, and Foser Brown of Orangeburg, SC. She's also survived by a beloved brother-in-law, Roadhill Nathan of Brooklyn, NY who always stood with opened arms welcoming family visits to the city. Many other in-laws complete this tribute of loving extended family.
She is preceded in death by three brothers, Johnny Brown Jr., Louis Brown, and Willie Brown and two sisters, Annie L. Nathan and Lillian Brown.
Louise will be remembered and missed for her eternally optimistic spirit, resonating laugh and beautiful smile. All that loved her, knew that her love of Christ and desire to be a servant of God was first and foremost. Her husband, children, and grand-children completed her life and gave her purpose. Louise will be extremely missed by all.
