It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Loula Mae Champagne, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, who left this world peacefully on September 26, 2025. Born on October 17, 1932, in Saint Martinville, Louisiana, Loula spent her life nurturing her family and cultivating a loving home, where laughter and warmth were always present.

As a dedicated homemaker, Loula found joy in gardening, crafting beautiful crosses to share with others, and tending to the birds that graced her yard. Her devout faith was evident in her daily rosary, and she offered words of wisdom to her family, reminding them, "In times of peace and times of trouble - pray daily and thank God for your blessings." These sentiments reflected the deep love she held for her family and the values she cherished.

Family gatherings were a highlight of Loula's life, where the aroma of her famous Christmas Gumbo, and chili dogs wafted through the air, creating memories that will forever linger in the hearts of her children and grandchildren. The joyous celebrations filled with love and delicious food will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.

We invite family and friends to come together to celebrate her remarkable life and the profound impact she had on all of us.

She is survived by her children, Garland (Sally) Champagne, Jr., Gale (Clifford "Bero" Theriot) Champagne, Susan (Scott) Champagne Blakely, Nancy Champagne Guidry, and Peggy (Edwin) Champagne Johnson; siblings, Gertie Trosclair, Henry Dore, Jr., Dieu Donne "Boy" Dore, Ronald Dore, and Allen Dore; 12 grandchildren, Angel Eddy, Lee Perrodin, Jr., Daniel Perrodin, Garland Jacob Champagne, III, Casey Champagne, Lydia Guidry, Colin Johnson, Grant Johnson, Hannah Blakely, Sarah Blakely Allen, Emily Blakely, and Matthew Blakely; and eleven great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Garland Champagne, Sr.; parents, Henry Dore, Sr. and Mathelia Poirier Dore; sisters, Donna Laneaux, Verna Chris, Hazel Baudoin, and an infant sister.

Pallbearers will be Garland Jacob Champagne, III, Casey Champagne, Colin Johnson, Grant Johnson, Matthew Blakely, and Landon Champagne.

Honorary pallbearers will be Lee Perrodin, Jr., Daniel Perrodin, Clifford "Bero" Theriot, Clint Guidry, Edwin Johnson, and Scott Blakely.
