Lovett "Frank" Redding, 75, son of James Redding and Roxie Mae Redding, was born on April 21, 1949 in Forsyth, Georgia. He was one of five children.
Frank graduated from Hubbard High School in 1967 where he was the star running back for the Hubbard Tigers. After graduation, he continued his education at Fort Valley State University where he broke records and was awarded the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference's Best Running Back in 1968. His outstanding football accomplishments led him to be a member of the Monroe County Sports Hall of Fame.
Frank worked and retired from Monroe County Fire Department as Battalion Chief and was one of Monroe County's first firemen.
He believed in serving his community and would always lend a helping hand to those in need. He touched the lives of so many people and will truly be missed by all.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Edgar Lenton Redding, and his sister Julia Mae Davis.
He leaves to cherish his memories a loving daughter, Venita LaShonda Lampkin (Brandon); a grandson Matthew Johnson; loving sisters Valeria Walters and Patricia Davis; as well as a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
