Lowell Edwin Billings passed away on August 2, 2023, in South Jordan, Utah. He was born on February 15, 1947 following minutes after his twin brother Don, in Washington DC to Harold and Dorothy Billings. He graduated from High Point High School in Beltsville, Maryland in 1965 and went onto graduate with a double Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from Brigham Young University and a MBA from University of Utah. He was honorably discharged as a 1st Lieutenant in Field Artillery from the United States Army in April 1981.
Lowell married his college sweetheart Karen Ovey in the Salt Lake City, Utah Temple on September 2, 1971. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served a mission in the British South Mission from March 1966 to March 1968. He was a devoted member of the church his entire life and held many callings including the High Council, Bishopric, Sunday School President, Family History Consultant and Gospel Doctrine Teacher.
Lowell spent most of his career as a Project Manager for PeopleSoft and Oracle Accounting/HR software systems performing installations of these programs for various companies such as Price Waterhouse Coopers, NBA, and Mars Candy Corporation. Lowell had many passions in life including photography, snow skiing, flying anything from drones to elaborate kites, golfing and spending time with his family. One of his favorite pastimes was teasing and harassing his children and wife mercilessly.
Lowell is survived by his children Amy Billings Crosby and Jared Billings and his brothers Lester (Marcia) Billings, Don (Ila) Billings, Brent (Carma) Billings and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on August 19, 2023 at 11:00 am with the viewing at 10:00 am. The address is 3785 West Box Elder Drive, Cedar Hills, Utah 84062. Lowell will be laid to rest at the Orem City Cemetery in Orem Utah.
