Lowell Vernoy Drotts passed away peacefully on July 14, 2025 at age 90, after a long journey with Parkinson's disease. Of Swedish ancestry, Lowell was born in northern Minnesota, and spent his early years in Thief River Falls, Minnesota with his parents and four siblings.

Lowell had a strong Christian upbringing in the Swedish Evangelical Covenant Church.

Lowell was predeceased by his father, David August Werner Drotts, and his mother Florence Albertina Tanguist Drotts, his first wife Marilyn Johnson Drotts and three siblings.

Surviving him are his wife Louise Haine, his sister, Phyllis Linder (Orrin) and three children, Daniel Lowell Drotts (April), Steven Drotts (Tracy) and Cindy Drotts Hartmann (Jon) and seven grandchildren.

Lowell attended North Park College, the University of Minnesota, North Park Theological Seminary, and completed his graduate studies at Northwestern University and Garrett Theological Seminary before becoming a minister in the Covenant Church. He served the church for decades in Illinois and Massachusetts during his ministry.

Years after the death of his first wife, Lowell met Louise in Florida, they married and he joined her travel agency. Lowell and Louise travelled to many foreign destinations including Singapore, Cambodia, Vietnam, Korea, Hong Kong, Honolulu and Europe. He was especially delighted to create his first group tour of Austria, beginning in Vienna to celebrate the 200th anniversary of Silent Night. He was comforted by her unwavering love until he was called to Heaven.

Lowell lived a Christian life, always with a smile, believing Proverbs 4:23 "above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it" and Jermiah 17: 9-10 "I, the Lord search the heart and examine the mind, to reward each person according to their conduct, according to what their deeds deserve."

Memorial Services will be announced at a later date in Virginia and a burial in Cape Cod.

Donations may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation or the Covenant Church.
