Lowell T. Engelman

Lowell T. Engelman Sr., of Monaca, passed away peacefully at home on February 2nd. He was born in Rochester, PA to the late Charles W. & Mary Engelman. He grew up in Brighton Township and was a graduate of Beaver High School where he was the center on the football team.
Upon graduation Lowell entered the Army and honorably served for 3 years. He was
employed at Valvoline, in Rochester, where he retired after 35 years. Lowell loved to fish and hunt. He was a hunter education instructor for over 50 years, sharing his love and knowledge with the youth of Beaver County.
Lowell also enjoyed being one of Santa's helpers, playing Santa Claus at clubs, fire halls and at the Festival of Trees. He was a member of Monaca #4 V.F.D. for over 43 years. He also served with the Beaver County Fire Police. Lowell was a 32nd Degree Mason and Past Master of Monaca-Center Lodge #791 F & AM. He was a Shriner and member of several social clubs in the area as well. One of the things he loved the most was being the loudest fan at all of his grandchildren's sporting events, blowing his horn as often and as loud as he could.
He is survived by his two sons Lowell Jr. (Debbie) Engelman and Eric Engelman (Jackie) of Monaca. Three loving grandchildren Haley, Zachary and Hannah. A sister Carole (Bill) Smith, Suffolk, VA, brother-in-law Rich (Pearl) Switalski, Point Marion, PA, brother-in-law Greg (Cheryl) Switalski, Garards Fort, PA and Debra (Jim) Lowther, Greensboro, PA.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Rebecca Engelman, his
brother Stan and wife Ruth Engelman, in-laws Judy and Bill Deems, Jane and Jerry
Frankhouser and Wayne and Carole Switalski.
Sadly, Lowell will be "viewed" and not "seen" on Monday, February 10th from 3pm to 8pm at SIMPSON FUNERAL CREMATION SERVICES, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca. Additional visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 11th from 9 am until the time of services at 10 am. Interment will follow at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, Pa. with full military honors.
A Fireman's prayer service will be held on Monday at 7pm at the funeral home followed by a Masonic service at 7:30 pm.
