Lowell Roger Johnson, age 83, passed away on December 7, 2025, in Gulfport, Mississippi. Born on January 18, 1942, in Mansfield, Ohio.

A proud veteran, Lowell served honorably in the Ohio Army National Guard, exemplifying his commitment to his country. Following his military service, he enjoyed a fulfilling career with the United States Postal Service, from which he retired after many years of dedicated work.

Lowell was a graduate of Madison High School, where he likely forged friendships that lasted throughout his life. Those who knew him will remember his infectious sense of humor. He found immense joy when engaged in long conversations with family and friends; catching up on current events or reminiscing about his childhood.

His passions extended beyond family; he was an avid collector of records and Native American jewelry, enjoyed all genres of music, and was a devoted sports fan, particularly of Ohio State football and the Cleveland Guardians. Lowell also cherished the tranquility of fishing and the companionship of his pets.

Lowell's faith played a significant role in his life, as he was a devoted follower of Christ, which served as a guiding principle for him and shaped the enduring legacy he leaves behind.

He is survived by his children, Patrick (Crystal) Johnson, Shelly (Guy) Lewis, and David (Lisa) Johnson; his nephew, Greg Johnson; and his niece, Angie Flores; his grandchildren, Lillianna, Dominic, Domenic, and Vincent.

Lowell is preceded in death by his wife, Leslie "Dawn" Johnson; his parents, Carl R. Johnson and Mary E. Johnson; his brother, Gary Johnson; and his grandson, Asher Johnson. Their memories will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing this kind and generous soul. Lowell's spirit and legacy will live on through the lives he touched and the love he shared with his family and friends.
