Raymond Paramore Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Snyder Funeral Homes, Lexington Avenue Chapel on Jan. 3, 2026.
Raymond A. Paramore, Jr., of Lexington, Ohio, passed away peacefully at Avita Ontario Hospital surrounded by his family on December 30, 2025. He was 81.
He was born on July 12, 1944 in Shelby, Ohio to the late Raymond and Anna (Garrett) Paramore. Having grown up in the area, Ray attended and graduated from Madison High School with the class of 1962. After graduation, Ray went on to enlist in the U.S. Army, and proudly served with the 5th Missile Battalion, 56th Artillery in Wilmington, Ohio as a Launcher Crewman from 1962-1965.
On June 3, 1967, Ray married the love of his life, Kathleen Kuhn, at St.Peter Parish. Together they shared 58 wonderful years of life, love, and memories together.
Professionally, Ray worked for General Motors Fisher Body plant and retired in 1997, after 32 years of service. Not being one to sit idle for long, he then became a bus driver for the Lexington Local School District, where he enjoyed connecting with his students, the teachers, and fellow colleagues until his retirement in 2005.
Ray was a longtime and dedicated member of the Lexington Elks, where he proudly served a term as Exalted Ruler. Alongside his wife, Kathy, he generously volunteered his time at numerous charity events through the lodge, giving back to the community he cared so deeply about. In retirement, Ray and Kathy embraced their love of travel, taking many trips throughout the United States and enjoying cruises through the Caribbean. Ray was an avid Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians fan and rarely missed a chance to cheer on his teams. He found joy in motorcycle riding, fishing, and, most of all, spending time with his family. A skilled handyman, Ray was always taking on home improvement projects and never hesitated to lend a helping hand to a neighbor or friend. Known for his unique sense of humor, he took great pleasure in making others laugh and will be remembered for the warmth and kindness he shared so freely.
He is survived by his loving wife Kathleen A. Paramore, children Dawn (Mark) Warner, Tracy Paramore, and Michael (Pam) Paramore, grandsons Drake, Luke, and Grant Schmitz, and Jack Warner, siblings Barbara Fisher, Cindi Donoho, Gary Paramore, and Bryan Paramore, brother-in-law David Kuhn, as well as many treasured nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The Paramore family will receive guests from 4 to 6 p.m. on Friday, January 9, 2026, and again from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2026, with a brief service immediately following, all at Snyder Funeral Homes, Lexington Avenue Chapel, 2553 Lexington Avenue, Mansfield, with Celebrant Dave Roberts officiating. Inurnment will follow at a later date.
