Loyal Harant

Loyal Joseph Harant, 101, of Reisterstown, MD, known to many as Joe, but later in life proudly embracing his given name, passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 14, 2024. He was the son of late John Joseph Harant and Florence Marie Harris, and brother to the late John Joseph and Catherine Ann. He is survived by Mary Jo his loving and dedicated wife of 70 years and five children: Daniel Harant (Carol), Nancy Gurwitz (Alan), Carol Haug (Dave), Kim Battaglia (Frank), and Kelley Houtz (Bryon). Loyal was also a proud grandfather to ten grandchildren: Christopher, Michelle, Diane, Staci, Ryan, Linda, Michael, David, Jordan, and Brady and a cherished great-grandfather to Alexis, Abigail, Olivia, Trenton, Colby, Leo, Max, Nora, and Dominic. Loyal's remarkable life will be honored with a visitation on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 from 5-7pm at Eline Funeral Home, 11824 Reisterstown Rd. Reisterstown, MD 21136. A mass of Christian burial will take place at the Little Church at Sacred Heart on Thursday, December 19, 2024 at 11:30am, followed by military honors at All Saints cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for donations to Sacred Heart Church or Bridging Life. Loyal Joseph Harant will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew him.
