Lucas Stephen Spear (Age 7) of Fairfield, CT, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2025, surrounded by the love of his parents, after a courageous three-year battle with cancer.
Lucas was born on December 12, 2017 in Bridgeport, CT. In his short life, Lucas blessed the world with so many talents. His insatiable curiosity and keen sense of observation led him to ask the best questions and to recall vividly every detail, of every experience— big or small. He could tell you the best places to get a slice of pizza, and rarely started a weekend without some bacon. He was a movie buff, a super hero expert, a Star Wars superfan, a Pokémon card collector, a LEGO engineer, Penfield Beach wave jumper, proud Jennings School Jaguar, scooter rider, tree house climber, and king of the one-liner. His most important role was being the best big brother to his adoring siblings.
Lucas is predeceased by his loving grandfather, Stephen Spear. He is survived by his adoring parents, Matthew and Katie (Librandi) Spear; his siblings, Avery and Asher; his grandparents, Stephen and Susan Librandi of Fairfield, CT, and JoAnn Dey of Orange, CT; his doting aunts and uncles, James and Carolyn (Librandi) Plunkett, Darrell and Amy (Librandi) Wilder, and Ken and Sarah (Spear) Fontaine; and his nine first cousins, who will always remember the real-life superhero we have in our family.
Lucas’ memory will forever be a source of love and inspiration for all who knew him. The family would like to thank everyone for their love and support as Lucas fought this battle. Your love and support through this journey has meant more than you will ever know.
Public Visitation will be from 4 - 7 pm, at Spear-Miller Funeral home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield on Tuesday, April 15, 2025.
