Lucas Spray Obituary
December 31, 1981 – August 13, 2024
Bakersfield – Lucas John Spray, 42, of McFarland, California, passed away on August 13, 2024 in Los Angeles, California. Born on December 31, 1981, in Visalia, California, he was a cherished son to Chuck and Dora Spray, and a beloved husband to Angela Capetillo. He also leaves behind his sister, Emily Spray, two nieces, Jaiden & Mikayla Etchison, his step daughter, Hannah Davenport, son-in-law Geoffrey Davenport along with grandson, Logan. Lucas is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous friends and co-workers. His life was a testament to the love and connections he fostered, evident in the deep bonds he shared with his family.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Wendell and Helen Spray, and John "Bill" and Ellen Ilene Kelly.
Lucas graduated from McFarland High School in 2000. He was active in football and baseball. He returned to McFarland High to be a proud sports uncle in which he never missed a game.
Lucas had a love for sports. You can find him cheering on (and possibly providing words of discouragement) for the San Francisco 49ers and the Chicago White Sox. If anyone knew Lucas, they also knew his love for Star Wars.
Family and friends will gather for services on Friday, August 30, 2024 at 10:00am at Visalia Cemetery, located at 1300 W Goshen Ave, Visalia, CA 93291 for a graveside service. The arrangements are being handled by Miller Memorial Chapel, 1120 W. Goshen Ave, Visalia, CA 93291. A Celebration of Life will be done in Bakersfield, California at a later date.
Lucas's warmth and kindness will be missed by all who knew him, but his legacy will live on through the memories cherished by his family and friends.
