Today, we gather to celebrate the life and legacy of Lucena Eulalee Reid affectionally called Blossom by her father. Blossom was Born in Hanover, Jamaica, on August 7, 1955, to parents Beryl Clarke and Henry Reid (Deceased). Blossom migrates with her mom to Kingston at the age of three months, they reside on Grandspend Road. She attended short wood basic school; after leaving high school She moved to Jones Town Kingston. Where She met her husband Ronald Whittaker (Deceased), a tiller by trader. The Union with him was blessed with one child Hilary, AKA Michelle, shortly after she migrated to homestead Florida in October 1987 she is survived by her daughter Hilary, (Son in Law Junior) Her granddaughter Savanah, Great granddaughter Aaliyah, two stepchildren Carol, Paulette and Travis her nephew whom she raised as a son.
Blossom was a true leader and motivator, she had a contagious smile, kind, compassionate, caring, she had a kind word for everyone she encountered. Blossom ability to find joy to lift your spirit and her humors make you forget your troubles.
Cherry was her nerves medicine they often had friendly fights, also with her daughter, granddaughter, and great grand she loved her son in law junior and said he's a good boy he always takes care of his family.
In 1990 Blossom was employed by the ocean reef club for over 23 years as a housekeeping supervisors in which she retired and was then employed at card sound members club, doing that time she became ill, even thought she being ill she still find the way to reach out to family, friends, if she did miss your call and call back and didn't get any responds, she would say (Wah yuh did dah) meaning where you were. Blossom was a warrior despite the challenges she faces she was always willing to pray with someone and had a song on her mind all time. As A Daughter, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Aunty, Sister, Mother-in-law, Cousin, Church family, and a host of friends, Blossom will surely be missed but she will always be in our hearts.
Blossom is survived by Nine siblings Six brothers, Sonny, Cecil, Patrick, Norman, Ruddy (Deceased), Donald (Deceased) and her three sisters, Cecelia (Henry), Noriene (Cherry), Fallan and stepmother Elfreda Reid (Deceased). Each of them held a special place in her heart, and she cherished the bond they shared.
Blossom's life was a testament to the power of love and family. She was a guiding light, always ready to lend a helping hand, offer a kind word, or share a warm smile. Her presence brought comfort and joy to those around her, and her legacy of compassion and generosity will live on in our hearts.
As we remember Blossom today, let us celebrate the beautiful moments we shared with her and find solace in the love she left behind. Though she may no longer be with us in body, her spirit will forever remain a part of us.
