Lucia Bass, a vibrant and loving soul, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2026, at the age of 81. Born on October 29, 1944, in
the Bronx, NY, Lucia was the cherished daughter of the late John and Mary (Tonti) Polizzi. Her life was a tapestry of love, friendship, and unwavering faith that touched everyone who knew her.
Lucia's heart was a wellspring of love, a love that was most profoundly shared with her late husband, Donald, whom she married on September 18, 1993. Their union was a testament to love's enduring power, a love that continued to guide her even after Donald's passing in 2018. Lucia was also preceded in death by her brother John, whose memories remained a cherished part of her life.
Those who will carry Lucia's legacy forward include her devoted son, Dominick and her daughter-in-law, Ann Marie as well as her daughter, Danielle. She was a proud and adoring grandmother to Logan. Her stepson Michael and step-grandchildren Amanda, Brandon and Ryan, will forever hold dear the warmth and joy she brought into their lives. Each family member was a precious jewel in the crown of her life, and she treasured every moment spent with them.
Lucia's professional life was marked by dedication and service, hallmarks of her character that extended well beyond her personal pursuits. Her work history and association involvement were characterized by the same passion and commitment she brought to all aspects of her life. She found joy and purpose in her career, and her colleagues will remember her for her spirited presence and friendly demeanor.
An avid fan of Yankee baseball, Lucia's enthusiasm for the game was infectious. She was equally passionate about literature, often found with a book in hand, and her love for fuzzy socks was well known among her friends and family. Lucia was a social butterfly, gracefully fluttering from one social gathering to another, leaving a trail of laughter and fond memories in her wake.
Family, friends, and faith formed the cornerstone of Lucia's world. Her life was a beautiful reflection of these priorities, and she nurtured each relationship with care and affection. Lucia's spirit was a beacon of light, her friendly nature, spirited energy, and loving heart made her a beloved figure in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Lucia Bass lived a life that was rich in experiences and abundant in love. She will be profoundly missed, yet her spirit will continue to inspire those who were blessed to have known her.
