Lucia Cora Trujillo (Portillo) was born May 23, 1936, in Santa Clara, New Mexico. She entered eternal rest August 15, 2024 at the age of 88 in Alburqueque, New Mexico.
Cora is known for her remarkable sense of humor, heart of gold and her ability to uplift those around her. Her gracious, loving, and understanding nature touched the lives of many, especially her children and grandchildren. She had a genuine gift of making people feel better no matter the circumstance, and her presence was a source of happiness and comfort. Her proudest accomplishment was her children. She will be remembered as a beloved Mother, Nanas, Sister, Aunt and Friend.
Cora leaves behind a loving family, including sons Fred, Frank, Alfred and Joseph; daughter Lisa; grandchildren Jerry, Eric, Vincent, Chanelle, Angela, Tina and JC; sisters Tarcilia and Teresa; along with 11 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Francisco and Emilia Portillo, husband Alfredo Trujillo, son Anthony Trujillo and siblings Jimmy, Lena, Annie, Magdelena, Tommy, Johnny, and Juanita "Kookie" Portillo.
In memory of Cora, contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, an organization close to her heart. Her legacy of compassion and support will continue to help others.
Services for Cora will held at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church at
5300 Phoenix Avenue, Northeast, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87110
September 24, 2024 Rosary and Mass starting at 9:30 a.m.
Reception to follow.
