Lucile Olson Bartz, 96, of Cambridge, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2024 surrounded by her family, at GracePointe Crossing West Memory Care.
Lucile's greatest legacy is the gift of her faith to her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, family and friends. She walked the walk sharing the love of God as a role model, a teacher, a friend and a constant source of love and prayer.
Lucile was born on February 13, 1927 to Jens Peter Olaf and Esther Olson. She was the princess in her family and loved dearly by her father, mother and older brothers, Anton and James. She attended Cambridge Schools, she loved school, music, skating, dancing, reading and cheerleading. Her life as a princess ended when she was sixteen years old, with the death of her father, after a courageous battle with brain cancer and her brothers leaving to serve their country in World War II. Lucile became the caretaker for her family and her extended family. On September 14, 1946, Lucile married the love of her life, Marvin George Bartz at the Zion Lutheran Church of Crown, MN. They raised their family, and lived in the Cambridge-Isanti area for 64 years. Their home was the gathering place for family and friends. Lucile's family was her life, her greatest treasure and legacy. She was a saintly wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She was truly a faithful servant and caregiver, Lucile helped everyone feel God's love. She was the heart of her family and truly enjoyed bringing everyone together for Sunday dinners, birthdays, holidays, picnics and coffee.
Lucile was preceded in death by her husband Marvin George Bartz, parents Jens Peter Olson and Esther Olson Bergloff; her stepfather Walter Bergloff and her brothers and sisters-in-law Tony and Garnet Olson, and Jim and Maxine Olson; and nephew Michael Olson.
She is survived by her children Marvin (Carlene) Bartz, Jr., Thomas Bartz, John (Karen) Bartz and Christine (Stephen) Miller; grandchildren Paul (Tamara) Bartz, Heather (Dean Sandino) Bartz, Jon (Jill) Miller, Matt (Danielle) Miller, Cullen (Sammy) Bartz and Kelsey (Mitch) Larsen; great grandchildren Greg Greicar, Zachary Bartz, Grant Bartz, Isabella Bartz, Haleigh Bartz, Lexon Bartz, Jesse Bartz, Matt Miller, Sam Miller, Payton Miller, Bode Miller, Ellie Miller, Lily Miller, Harvey Bartz, Lucy Bartz, Norah Larsen and Margot Larsen.
The family of Lucile Bartz wishes to extend a very special thank you to GracePointe Crossing administration, staff, providers, nurses, caregivers, chaplains and Optage Hospice for their excellent and loving care. You are truly a blessing to our "Mother" and our family.
