Lucille M. Bauer, age 90, of Auburndale, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at Wells Nature View in Marshfield.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Lucille will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Auburndale with the Rev. Angisamy officiating. Burial will be at the parish cemetery with her grandchildren serving as pallbearers. The service will be streamed online at www.facebook.com/rembsfuneralhomes. A visitation for family and friends will be held at the church from 9:00 am until service time.
Lucille was born on April 19, 1934 in the town of Auburndale to John and Anna (Resch) Hamus. She attended Hillside school, St. Michael's Parochial School, then attending Mount Mary's Convent in Milwaukee for three years. She returned to Marshfield where she graduated from Columbus Catholic High School in 1952. After school, Lucille was employed at Weinbrenner Shoes. She was united in marriage to her husband Raymond "Petsie" Bauer on March 2, 1957 at St. John Catholic Church in Marshfield.
After marriage, Lucille and her husband moved to Auburndale where they and their sons farmed for over forty years. She stayed dedicated to the farm after Raymond's passing on September 7, 1993, living there until she moved to Wells Nature View.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and it's PCCW, the Ladies VFW Auxiliary and the Catholic Knights Insurance Society. She loved tending to her big garden, her flowers and especially enjoyed feeding the birds.
Lucille is survived by her sons, Raymond J. (Mary) and Russell (Elaine) Bauer. Her Grandchildren, Brian (Meghan) Bauer, Rachel (Brett) Hirsch, Kurt (Leslie) Bauer, Jared (Molly) Bauer, Kaitlin Bauer, Adam (Ingrid) Bauer and eight great-grandchildren with another due in January 2025.
She is also survived by her sister Mary Ann Heyer, and sister-in-law Maureen Bauer.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, sister Lorraine Hamus, brother Eugene (Wanda) Hamus and brother-in-law Irv Heyer.
The family would like to thank the staff of Wells Nature View (On Adams Ave.) and especially the staff of Heartland Hospice for their wonderful and compassionate care of Lucille and her family.
Memorials may be designated to any Alzheimer's research charity or the Ladies VFW Auxiliary.
