Lucille Grizzel Bowling, age 99, of Edgewater Drive in Irvine, passed away Friday, September 12, 2025, at the Madison Health and Rehab Center. She was born February 28, 1926, in Mingo County, West Virginia and was the daughter of the late John Freeland Williamson and Sallie Pearl Williamson. She retired from Jenny's Dress Shop in Williamson, West Virginia, and she was a member of the Williams Memorial Baptist Church and a member and past treasurer of the Women's Missionary Association. Lucille had lived in Estill County since 1987. She is survived by:

2 daughters: Linda Lou Grizzel - South Carolina

Sally A. Frye - New Mexico

2 sons: William Kennith (Carol) Grizzel - Ohio

Ronald D. Grizzel - Irvine

19 grandchildren

Several great and great-great grandchildren

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Anuel K. Grizzel and Joe J. Bowling, 1 daughter, Dorothy Yvonne Valentine, 2 sisters, Ethel Day and Elizabeth Gurney, 3 brothers, Bill Williamson, John B. Williamson, and Joe Williamson, and 2 stepsons, Joe J. Bowling Jr. and George Bowling.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, September 16, 11 AM at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Chris Winkler officiating. Burial will be at the Mountain View Memorial Gardens in Belfry, Kentucky on Wednesday at 11 AM. Visitation will be held on Monday from 6 to 8 PM.
