Lucille Mayton Chambliss, 88, of Crewe Virginia, born Christmas Eve 1936, went to be with the Lord on November 12, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. She was the only child to the late George Irby Mayton and Mary Luvenia Edmonds Mayton. She was also the mother of the late Nancy Etta Jenkins and grandmother of the late Angel Paige Jenkins and Joseph Patt Barnett III. She is survived by 2 daughters, Brenda Clark Atkins (Noel), Diane E. Clark and one son, Ricky A. Clark (Liz), 10 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 15 great-great grandchildren and her special cousin Sylvia Abernathy. Lucille grew up in Lunenburg County. She was a retired Seamstress having worked for Crewe Garment Factory and Levi Strauss. She enjoyed listening to and singing country music especially her favorite singer, George Jones, shopping at the Goodwill and Bliss Stores, and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and extended family and friends. She will always be remembered for her ability to brighten your day with her funny personality or even with just her beautiful smile. She was so loved and will forever be loved and missed. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 16, 2025 from 1:00 to 2PM at the Clarke Funeral Home in Kenbridge. Graveside funeral services will be held 2:30PM Sunday, November 16, 2025 at the Jonesboro Baptist Church Cemetery, 1955 Jonesboro Road, Blackstone, Va. 23824.
