Lucille Gebhardt Obituary

Lucille Anderson Gebhardt, homemaker and retired seamstress, died at home on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at the age of 102. She was born in Beaver County, Pennsylvania, and resided in Carrollton until her marriage in 1947, at which time she moved to Old Jefferson for the remainder of her life. She attended Rabouin Technical School where she majored in dress and millinery design. She contributed to the war effort during WWII at Wembley Tie, making ties for the Army, and worked at a seamstress for Martha Brogan, the Lylian Shop, and for Lynley Designs. She was also an incredible cook and the greenest thumb ever. She was a lifelong member of Central St. Matthew UCC. She is preceded in death by her husband, Edwin H. Gebhardt Sr. and is survived by her daughter, Susan C. Gebhardt, son Edwin H. Gebhardt Jr., granddaughter Erika C. Gebhardt, grandson Edwin H. (Hank) Gebhardt III and her loyal cat, Munnie. The family wishes to thank Tina Noah, Anheuser Hester, Kim Fernandez, and Pam Hicks for their devoted care. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 16 at 11 a.m. at Central St. Matthew UCC, 1333 S. Carrollton Avenue, New Orleans, Louisiana 70118. Please wear something floral for Miss Lucy! In lieu of flowers, please donate to the American Cancer Society or the Parkinson's Foundation.
