Lucille Cecilia Kampeter, 97, of Jefferson City, passed away Friday, September 20, 2024, at Oak Tree Villas, with family by her side.
She was born October 19, 1926, in Jefferson City, the daughter of Max Paul and Amelia Marie (Wachter) Neutzler.
A 1945 graduate of St. Peter Catholic High School.
She was united in marriage on January 27, 1951, at St. Peter Catholic Church to Victor Joseph Kampeter who preceded her in death on September 6, 2015.
She was a lifetime member of St. Peter Catholic Church.
Lucille retired from Employment Security as a clerk after 42 years.
She was a member of the St. Peter Church Ladies Sodality, Boonville Road 49’ers, Show-Me Precious Moments Club, Stampin-up (card making club) and helping at kids’ school events. She enjoyed crocheting and making all occasion cards to send to friends and relatives.
Survivors include two children, Cheryl (Vic) Buechter, and Sharon (Leroy) Wilde; three grandchildren, Kristan (Jamie) Morris, Craig (Heather Michelle) Buechter, Curt (Heather Renee) Buechter; ten great-grandchildren, Daniel Morris, Nick Morris, Owen Morris, Lainey Morris, Benjamin Buechter, Joseph Buechter, Alexis Buechter, Abigail Buechter, Madison Buechter and Lillian Buechter. Lucille loved family and friends. Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren were sparkles of light in her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and one brother, Tony Neutzler and one sister, Leona Neutzler.
Visitation will be 9:00-10 a.m. Friday, September 27, 2024, at St. Peter Catholic Church.
Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church with the Rev. Msgr. Robert A. Kurwicki, VG officiating.
Burial will be in Resurrection Catholic Mausoleum.
Memorials are suggested to St. Peter School or American Legion.
