Lucille Lierman, 81, of rural Fall Creek, passed away peacefully in her home with her family by her side on Saturday evening, September 7.
Lucille Dorthe Lierman was born April 4, 1943, in Menomonie, WI, daughter of Gilbert and Hazel (Lemke) Ponto. Lucy was raised with her two sisters in Menomonie and it was there she attended school. On January 13, 1961, Lucy was united in marriage to Vaughn Lierman also in Menomonie. For the first few years of their married life they farmed in Dunn County before purchasing a farm just west of Fall Creek in 1974.
In those 50 years she took great pride in taking care of her large lawn, beautiful flower gardens and planting and harvesting a vegetable garden. She enjoyed her involvement with St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Fall Creek and through the years helped with many of their quilting projects.
Lucy's health had been failing for a number of years but insisted on being the caregiver for her husband.
Lucy will be dearly missed by Vaughn, her loving husband of 63 years; three sons, Randy (JoAnn) Lierman of Lakewood, Kevin (Sandra) Lierman, Bryn Lierman (Natalie Ramsdell) all of Eau Claire; sister, Patricia Kutney of Brooklyn Park, MN; six beloved grandchildren, Jeffery (Chelsea) Lierman, Alicia (Justin) Waschbisch, Eric (Amanda) Lierman, Jason (Melissa) Lierman, Andrew (Lauren) Lierman and Cheyenne Lierman; and 12 cherished great-grandchildren.
Lucy was preceded in death by her parents and sister Ardith Rogers.
Visitation will be Saturday, September 14 from 9 to 11:00 a.m. with memorial services immediately following at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fall Creek with Pastor Brendan Harris officiating. Burial will be at 4 p.m. in the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Menomonie. The family is assisted by Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta.
