Lucille Marsh Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lopatich-Brinker Funeral Home, LLC on Dec. 12, 2025.
Lucille (Hvizdos) Marsh, 91, of Latrobe, Unity Township, passed away on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at Hempfield Manor.
Born August 22, 1934, in Whitney, she was the daughter of the late John S. and Mary C. (Barlock) Hvizdos.
She was devoted, loving and caring to her husband and soulmate, Richard "Dick," and to her children and grandchildren. Lucille was a member of St. Cecilia Roman Catholic Church in Whitney. When she was a young girl, she worked at her beloved father's former Confectionery store in Whitney, one of his former three businesses that he owned and operated. Lucille later worked as a secretary in the Order Department at Kennametal, Inc. in Latrobe. A kind and generous person, she took pleasure in making a beautiful home for her husband and her two sons. She could often be found in her kitchen, cooking, canning, and baking. Lucille took great pleasure in her beautifully decorated cookies and pastries for her family, especially her delicious Gingerbread Man cookies at Christmas. Her house was always open to her sons' friends who spent many days at her home. In her spare time, she liked to sit down and play the organ. Lucille also enjoyed being outdoors working in the vegetable garden with her husband and planting flowers in the summer.
Besides her parents, Lucille was preceded in death by her infant twin brother Joseph, three brothers, John (Marie), George (Helen), and Michael Hvizdos; four sisters, Anna Hvizdos, Aurelia Hvizdos, Cecilia Washnock (Donald), and Mary Sagan (Edward); father and mother-in-law, Louis and Mary Marsh; and in-laws, Barbara Hvizdos, William and Jacqueline Marsh, Esther and Harold Stewart, Louis Marsh, Dorothy and John Steel, and LaVerne and Stephen Sopko.
Lucille is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Richard "Dick" Marsh, of Latrobe, whom she married in 1957; two sons, Ronald A. Marsh and his wife, Tammy, of Latrobe and James E. Marsh and his wife, Donna, of Acme; six grandchildren, Carly Marsh, Chelsea Gross (Tyler), Cristy Varner (Garrett), Samuel Marsh, Sarah Marsh, and Max Marsh; two great-grandchildren, Landen and Addie Lou; one brother, Leonard Hvizdos, of Emmaus, PA; in-laws, Donald and Barbara Marsh, and Betty Marsh; and a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Thursday, December 18, 2025, at the Lopatich-Brinker Funeral Home, LLC, 601 Weldon Street, Latrobe. Members of the St. Cecilia Rosary Altar Society will recite the Rosary at 1:30 PM Thursday in the funeral home. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM Friday, December 19, 2025, at St. Cecilia Church, Whitney, with the Rev. James Podlesny, O.S.B., as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Vincent Cemetery. To sign the online guest book, send condolences, or share a story, please visit www.lopatichbrinker.com.
