Someone known and loved by many, Lucille Williams was the second child and girl of nine children born to James and Emma Mitchell Williams, on March 9, 1943, in Williston Florida. Of the nine children, Lucille is the first one deceased and this leaves a huge void in this family. Lucille completed her education at Williston Vocational High School and then went on to attend a Manpower program where she learned many office skills. Lucille loved to talk and interact with people. As is often said "she has never met a stranger". She worked for 38 years as an Administrator in Admissions and Minority Affairs at the University of Florida. She was instrumental in mentoring and encouraging many African American students to study and complete their education at UF. She received many accolades from her peers and many of the parents of those students. She was passionate about helping others. She had a strong faith that began at New Zion A.M.E Church where her family worshipped during her childhood. She continued on her spiritual journey and was a faithful member of the Church of God by Faith. She loved the Lord, gave generously of her time, her talents and her tithes. If she could help anyone, she would. She served as a Sunday school teacher, financial committee member and many other offices at her church. She was known as one of the founding mothers of a community choir, Love Togetherness and Devotion (LTD). She was the Queen of the Red Hat Club in the local area. As a mother, Lucille raised three sons and they would say she was a stern but fair disciplinarian. She raised them to be gentleman and Christians. She leaves behind her sons, Carl (Christine), Lorenzo (Acquelyn), and Gregory. Siblings include Bertha Anderson, James Williams (Priscilla), Juanita Armbrister, Eura Moore (Larry), Nora Nattiel (Eddie), Alene Williams, Robert Williams, and Ricky Williams (Arlene). She also leaves behind a host of grandchildren, great grands, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. She was a "mother" to many in the community. and was loved by all.

I worked with Lucille part time and had the pleasure of attending Church with her one Sunday. But, one of my favorite memories is being invited into her beautiful home and fed some of the best food I´ve ever tasted. RIP I know your Daddy was waiting on you. To the family. Please accept my deepest sympathy.

My condolences to the family. As Lucille would instruct, Trust in the Lord with all your mind, body and soul. She was such a lovely lady and will truly be missed. However, she has left so many good memories for us all.
