Lucinda Lacy Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Beinhauer Family Funeral Homes - Peters Township - McMurray on Mar. 27, 2026.
Age 73, died March 25, 2026, at Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh. She was born October 23, 1952, in Wadsworth, Ohio, the daughter of Donald E. and Helen A. (Smith) Myers.

Cindi grew up in Seville, Ohio, and graduated from Cloverleaf High School, Class of 1971. Following graduation, she attended Bowling Green State University, where she met her future husband, Lorin M. Lacy, who carried her refrigerator up to her dorm room her first day on campus. Pulling his name from a Secret Santa hat later during that first term on campus, she asked, "What is a Lorin Lacy?" They married in December 1973 and moved to New York City, where their first child, Mac, was born. In 1975, they moved to Chicago, where their daughter, Molly, was born in 1978. Over the years that followed, they also lived in Detroit, Columbus, and Pittsburgh. They celebrated 52 years of marriage in December. She was a proud cancer survivor for almost 50 years.

Fabric arts were a life-long love of Cindi's; she designed and made her own wedding dress, enjoyed sewing outfits for her granddaughters, and took up quilting in recent years. She was extraordinarily thoughtful, remembering every special occasion and always sending little cards and gifts to her children and grandchildren. Cindi's cooking and baking were legendary; she taught her children and grandchildren how to make her apple pie, magic fruit dip and dozens of other recipes that have become generational favorites. She was active in her communities, from volunteering to teach Spanish in Mac's elementary school to working in the high school guidance counseling office in Molly's high school. Cindi was an enthusiastic world traveler and loved exploring new places with her family.

Surviving in addition to her husband, Lorin M. Lacy, are her son, Mac Lacy and his wife, Lisa, of Portland, Oregon; her daughter, Molly Lacy, and her husband Jason Stott, of Pembroke, Massachusetts; and four granddaughters, Bella Lacy, Maya Lacy, Catherine Stott, and Lauren Stott.

A gathering for family and friends will be held at 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. Saturday, March 28 at Beinhauer Family Funeral Home, 2828 Washington Road, McMurray. Those who wish to remember Cindi in a special way may make gifts in her memory to the American Cancer Society (https://www.cancer.org/) or American Heart Association (https://www.heart.org/en/).
