Lucinda Perez Murguia , age 71, passed away on July 1, 2025. She was born on January 19, 1954, in Brownsville, Texas.

Lucy worked in banking for several years before finding her true calling as the church secretary at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, where she faithfully served for 24 years. Her dedication and warm spirit touched many lives in the church community.

Lucinda is survived by her loving daughter, Lissa Gonzalez (Robert Gonzalez); her sons, Frank Benavidez and Isaac Benavidez; and her stepson, Daniel Murguia Jr. She was a proud grandmother to Clarisa Benavidez, Elizabeth Gonzalez, Katherine Gonzalez , Tristen Benavidez and many more beloved grandchildren.

She is also survived by her siblings, Mary Perez, Raul Perez (Sue Ann), Ester Vasquez, Jose Perez, Jesus Perez (Esther), Antonio Perez (Martha) and Marina Perez. She is preceded in death by her devoted husband Daniel S. Murguia and her parents Jose P. Perez and Eulalia M. Perez.

Lucy had a deep love for her family and cherished every moment spent with her children, sisters, brothers and grandchildren.

She found great joy in music, whether singing with mariachis or doing karaoke with loved ones. Above all, Lucinda was a woman of strong faith, and she lived her life grounded in love, kindness, and belief in God.

Her vibrant spirit, laughter, and unwavering love will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Services will be held on July 19, 2025 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church , 1071 Pajaro St., Salinas

at 11:00am.
